Maxar is looking for a Network Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role you will support LAN and WAN infrastructure across data centers, branch offices, and critical operations centers. Responsibilities:- Support the implementation and operation of WAN infrastructure: point-to-point, multi-point WAN connectivity, dedicated leased lines to various customers, VPN links to various customers and remote sites.
- Support the implementation and operation of LAN infrastructure at datacenters, branch offices, and critical operations centers.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the AWS Cloud infrastructure and be able to collaborate and work across teams
- Assist in the implementation of centralized DNS/DHCP solutions.
- Assist in the implementation and management of wireless solutions.
- Troubleshoot and modify the operation of the network-based portion of the security infrastructure including firewalls, IDS/IDP, and VPN
- Implement security process improvements in conjunction with Network Security personnel
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and willing and able to obtain a Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
- 5 years' of relevant experience administering LANs and WANs (data, voice) in a complex operational environment. (A Master's degree may count as 2 years of experience.)
- Experience with Juniper Networks routers, switches, firewalls
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls
- Current/active Secret security clearance
- 8 years' experience administering LANs and WANs (data, voice) in a complex operational environment with the need for 4 nines up-time
- Experience with AWS VPCs, Customer Gateways, Direct Connects, VPN
- Knowledge and experience in the Agile framework and process
- Experience with network monitoring solutions / automation
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including creation of SOPs, maintenance plans, network drawings, etc.
- Strong analytical abilities
- Must possess a strong client focus
- Experience with F5 application load balancing technologies
- Experience with network security issues and solutions
- Experience with Aruba technologies (Mobility Master, ClearPass)
- Experience with Infoblox (DNS, DHCP, NetMRI etc.)
- Experience creating and maintaining documentation of solutions
- Experience creating and maintaining monitoring in a large-scale enterprise environment
- Solid knowledge of data / IP networking and protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, GRE, TCP, FTP, DNS)
