- Android software stack and services knowledge.
- Experience with ADB commands, shell scripting.
- Organize a backlog of issues following a defined process.
- Android debugging skills (logcat, dumpsys).
- Experience with GIT, GERRIT, JIRA.
- Attend the release meeting
- Work closely with the QA team
- Participate in core team weekly meetings
- Review the list of issues, understand next steps, and respond to issues promptly
- Triaging issues includes:
- Identifying any duplicate issues/bugs
- Checking the conditions for reproducing the issue
- Capability to review logs
- Finding the software module responsible for the root cause
- Updating bugs based on what was unearthed in investigations
- Reassigning an issue to the most appropriate owner or team
- Closing the loop with the reporter of the issue
- Ensure SLOs for bug triaging and resolution are complied with
- Ping the assignees to request feedback on dormant bugs
- Develop test apps to validate an OEM's customization internally.
- Bring up and debug a 1P (first party) or 3P (third party) app on a specific device.
- Develop a script that can speed up an issue reproduction.
- Run a specific performance assessment on 3P ATV or other devices.
- Ability to keep up-to-date on managing Android devices: flashing, sideloading, root access, etc.
- Android apps knowledge.
- Android build environment and device customizations.
- Understanding of Linux kernel, vendor HAL.
