Length of Contract: 6+ months with possible extension Location: Open for Remote with onsite Lab visits to either Mountain View, CA Or Milwaukee, WI)Interview: 1 round Microsoft Teams Video InterviewStart: ASAPw2 Candidates only and Local Candidates highly Preferred Title: Power Electronics Diagnostics System Engineer Oxford’s EV client is looking for a Diagnostic systems engineer who can take Functional Safety and turn in to requirements. They will need to understand high and low voltage, OBC (On Board Chargers) and be able to read schematics (no design). In this position you will:• Create system level architecture for power electronics protection mechanism for LiveWire’s EV power electronic components, including Inverter, On-Board Charger (OBC) and DCDC Converter• Define hardware and software level requirements for various power electronics protection circuit• Design and implement power electronics protection circuits and diagnostic systems on various power electronic components• Create and execute test plans for power electronic protection circuits, including hardware & software interfaces• Drive overall conformance to the well-adopted international standards including ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), ISO 14229 (UDS Protocol) as well as other global regulatory requirements• Create, maintain, and track action items from hardware DFMEA • Execute root cause analysis for test failure reports and field returns Education Required:This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering.Knowledge & Experience Required:Good knowledge of power electronics products for EV powertrain such as Inverters, On-Board Chargers (OBC) and DCDC Converters. Good knowledge on circuit protection mechanism and diagnostic reporting. Hands-on experience in power electronics hardware development: design, debugging and validation. Experience in the following is highly preferred:• Experience in high power (500 W – 100 kW+) conversion circuit design and analysis (AC-to-DC, DC-to-AC, and or DC/DC converters)• Experience in designing circuits with mixed signals (digital and analog, various voltage levels)• Working knowledge of power transistor gate drive circuits, vehicle communication circuits, microcontroller circuits, etc. • Working knowledge of power electronic sensors (high voltage sensors, current sensors, temperature sensors, etc.), protection circuits, and vehicle interface for diagnostic reporting• General understanding of EMI/EMC design best practices• Power electronics high voltage laboratory experiments • Working knowledge of data acquisition tools – LabView / Veristand, CANalyzer, Neo VI, etc.• System requirements development and decomposition for hardware and software• Requirements & work management tool (Helix, IBM DOORS, Polarion, JIRA, etc.)• Working knowledge of automotive power electronics system based design process (A-SPICE)
