Job Number: 858RRI is seeking commercial and tech-savvy program managers to join our team of experts and advisors supporting the Defense Innovation Unit's Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have prior venture-backed technology start up experience, technology prototyping, commercial product management, and/or experience supporting DoD innovation programs. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship. Location: Location is flexible, but ideally the California Bay area, Boston, Austin, Chicago, or other tech hub. Duties:- Provide expertise in architecture, implementation, and engineering support of machine learning systems to include solving relevant technical and programmatic problems and assessing the technical feasibility of commercial solutions
- Work closely with government partners and commercial teams throughout the prototype development lifecycle
- Coordinate and collaborate with senior government officials, executive leadership, and other high ranking stakeholders
- Perform independent reviews and detailed technical assessments of commercial solutions and their specific applications
- Provide reviews and assessments, systems analyses of applicable technologies and operational concepts, system requirements, technical and performance analyses, test plans, executions, results, and related engineering documentation
- Review prototype proposals, reports and related project documents
- Prepare white papers, technical papers, briefs, and meeting materials
- Respond to official requests for information and other tasks from government partners and stakeholders
- Participate in key intra- and inter-agency meetings
- Other duties as assigned
- Prior experience supporting rapid prototyping efforts, preferably in the AI/ML, computer science, or data science fields
- Prior commercial business, management, and/or technical experience
- Master's degree in a business or technical field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience to include subject matter expertise or management engineering role
- Ability to establish multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder projects that enhance scientific collaboration, knowledge sharing, and research for the relevant community
- Ability to communicate to a broad range of audiences (Congress, CEOs, investors, commercial vendors, military officials, media, etc) to gain acceptance of vision, guidance and policy
- Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and interpersonal and client-handling skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
