job summary:
- 7+ years or experience- As a Senior UXD on the Design Systems team within Google Ads you will be responsible for conducting product audits, identifying patterns, and creating flexible, enterprise-focused components that can be used by all of Google Ads products with a core focus on the interaction and behavior of the components.- Understand all of the Google Ads products patterns and components- Define the standards for existing and new requirements for Google Ads- Design new patterns and components for built on Googles Material brand language to reflect the needs of Google Ads Products- Document the usage, accessibility, and design specs for components within the Google Ads Design System spec- Own the review process between multiple teams within Google (Reach, Eng, Material) and address feedbacNice to Have Requirements- Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or a related field + 2-4 years of post-baccalaureate experience in graphic design or a related field.- 7+ years of professional experience- 2+ years of experience establishing design systems for various brands.- Ability to demonstrate a collaborative approach with design and engineers.- Detail-oriented and organized, with strong interaction skills for patterns and components- Interest in or experience with using Content Management Systems (CMS) and/or designing for them.- Interest in or experience with layout design and visual communications.- Experience working closely with UX and product management teams in the tech industry.Skill/Experience/Education Mandatory BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, or a related field (in lieu of degree, 5 years of relevant work experience required). strong core design skills; ability to establish visual hierarchy, layout, typography, and color effectively. Ability to use visual design to organize information and guide people through the tasks. Experience defining design systems that work across a complex product. Best in class portfolio demonstrating command of motion and interaction in web and/or mobile contexts. Propensity to focus on detailed aspects of motion and experience, often related to physics, patterns, and visual design elements; ability to use motion to express sentimental or emotional experience. Ability to communicate complex, sometimes abstract, design concepts clearly and persuasively. A strong acumen for user experience design and how motion design influences UI & interaction design (and vice versa). Desired Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills. Ability to use motion to a narrative effect and understanding the future of interactive motion. Solid understanding of basic principles of animation. 8 years of experience designing outstanding web-based and/or mobile products for a consumer-oriented website.
