Description Seeking an Assistant Controller to join a growing, dynamic company in the heart of wine county. One of the Assistant Controller's tasks include supporting the controller with the supervision of the accounting staff, reporting updates to the Controller. A Bachelor's in finance & Accounting, CPA/MBA certification a plus, not essential along with knowledge of ERP systems would be a consideration for the role. Create relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
Aid with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Make sure regular account reconciliation to completion
Arrange numerous policies, procedures, and technical accounting analyses
Contribute to ensure a competent, trained staff through development, goal setting, and regular assessment
Back implementation and make sure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Detect and prepare process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Sophisticated preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Alternative duties as requested
Backfill for Controller when necessary
Incite accountability and the meeting of deliverables
Facilitate the accounting team during the closing process to see to it that deadlines are met
Requirements
Proficient in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Bank Account Reconciliation experience
Month end closings experience desired
Command of General Journal
Bank reconciliations experience
3+ years of general ledger accounting experience
CPA certification desired
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Deep technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred-
