We are currently seeking a Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering department supports all hardware product engineering groups regarding materials (metals and plastics), structural joining technologies (fasteners, mechanical joining, adhesives), and corrosion engineering and is engaged in exploring new technologies for future Lucid products.This position requires an experienced professional with in-depth technical expertise in materials, joining technologies, structural adhesives, fasteners, and corrosion in combination with high performance team management skills. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.The Role- Lead, mentor, and build a world-class advanced manufacturing engineering team
- Manage projects across the hardware engineering department relating to materials, joining technologies, structural adhesives, fasteners, and corrosion
- Support product engineering and research & development
- Be responsible for the in-house Advanced Manufacturing Lab and outsource work to external labs
- Cross functionally facilitate product development across materials, CAE, testing & correlation
- Lead the projects and engineers involved in Lucid engineering specification development
- Drive your team with the Lucid Air product launch in mind
- Your primary role is success-oriented product engineering
- Your secondary role is a scientific background and mindset
- Demonstrated experience as a detail-oriented manager with technical depth and breadth
- Full program cycle experience from concept to production launch in automotive field
- Expertise in and understanding of materials and processes commonly used in automotive applications
- Ability to create/improve/establish technical product specifications and timelines
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to achieve success in a fast-paced startup environment
- Profound knowledge of advanced manufacturing engineering and demonstrable track record of technical excellence and program execution
- Exceptional technical abilities paired with outstanding communication skills
- Over 5 years of experience in a relevant technical role
- Over 3 years of experience with hands on people management of scientists and engineers
- Master's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or related discipline
