We are currently seeking to add an NVH Test engineer with multi-system test and development experience to our staff. Candidates are expected to be experienced in several areas of vehicle NVH such as road noise, wind noise, powertrain NVH and vehicle sub-systems such as HVAC ancillaries, and acoustic package optimization, with a focus in the area of diagnosing and correcting noise and vibration issues stemming from any one of these systems. They are also expected to be strong self-starters, team collaborators, excellent problem solvers, and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Role:
  • Work with members of NVH team to set targets and establish test and analysis methodologies, both at the component level and the vehicle level.
  • Work on multiple smaller projects with other NVH team members as the need for problem solving on the hardware requires
  • Work with other engineering teams (e.g., Chassis, Body, Exteriors, Interiors) to review targets and guide design changes to benefit NVH performance. Must have ability to influence design based on engineering principle.
  • Work with members of the team to create test plans to maximize knowledge with tight timelines and less resources than found at traditional OEMs.
  • Perform testing to asses and, if necessary, improve NVH performance, both at the vehicle and component level.
  • Deliver world-class NVH performance while balancing aggressive cost and mass targets.

Qualifications:
  • Excellent communicator, collaborator, team player, and problem solver.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, thrive, and chart your own path in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of NVH principles. No exceptions.
  • Previous experience taking a vehicle from concept to production.
  • Familiarity with airborne noise test and evaluation methodologies, e.g., leakage testing, transfer path analysis, absorption coefficient and sound transmission loss testing, etc.
  • Familiarity with specifying, testing and validating interior trim for NVH performance, both at the component level and the vehicle level. Knowledge of soft trim material property testing a plus.
  • Proficiency with standard NVH tools such as accelerometers, microphones, modal hammers, etc. Familiarity with LMS Test.Lab a plus.
  • MS in Engineering with 6-8 years experience or PhD in Engineering with 3-5 years experience preferred.
