This position requires professional experience developing android applications with a focus of frontend development. Our ideal candidate must exhibit the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, be able to produce beautiful UI that matches the design specs pixel perfectly, and creatively find optimal solutions that use minimal memory.- The Role
- Implement and maintain custom widgets / components within a library with relevant unit tests
- Architect these components with minimal memory usage
- Document how to use these components
- Maintain the icon library
- Support application developers on how to use these components / widgets
- Work with localization / internationalization, framework, and QA teams effectively
- Work in conjunction with the user experience design team to define, scope, and develop the user-facing component
- Qualifications
- 3+ years of android development experience with shipped applications
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and politely
- Be a team player that asks for help when needed
- Efficient time management skills
- Experience in Android software development
- Proficient in Java
- Proficient with version control software, ideally Gitlab
- Proficient with building android apps with Gradle
- Undergrad in CS or Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience Bonus:
- Android OS Framework (AOSP) Customization Experience
- Android HAL Experience
- Proficient in other programming languages
- Building Android Apps with Make
