We are currently seeking an intern, Test Engineer, Model Based Design, Controls Software Engineer. This position requires an experienced professional with a basic understanding of scripting languages and a passion for EV's. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
  • Role/Responsibilities:

  • Develop Unit Tests based on requirements for software components developed to a model-based development lifecycle
  • Create harnesses in Simulink Test and design negative and positive test cases for the software component
  • Perform MIL, SIL and PIL testing for application level software component(s)
  • Deliver to coverage metrics that conform to the minimum requirement of the software component(s) allocated safety integrity level.
  • Ensure conformance to modeling guidelines
  • Automate regression testing
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of testing
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the controls team verification processes & procedures
  • Follow and improve best practices and internal processes.
  • Learn and contribute to automotive software development lifecycle. From requirements to integration.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with scripting tools and methods to optimize software development and testing activities
  • Familiarity with testing embedded software components
  • Experience using MATLAB, Simulink, State flow, Embedded C and m scripting
  • Experience using Lauterbach Trade 32 debugger, Tasking and GCC compiler
  • Nice to have:

  • Good understanding of analytical and problem-solving skills with strong engineering principles
  • Understanding of vehicle dynamics, electric power trains or control theory
  • Education:

  • Field(s)of study: Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related fields
  • Will consider undergrads Junior level or above: Pursuing Bachelor's or master's degree
  • Graduated eligible for this internship up to 12 months after graduation
  • Information:

  • Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.
  • Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.
  • Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in person. The working environment will be a mix of lab, Bay & office work.
  • Relocation: One round trip flight to the assigned work location from/to permanent residence.
  • Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.
  • Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.
  • Drug Screening: All offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen.
  • Medical benefits: Dental and vision on day 1 for all interns working 32+ hours a week; medical for interns in California working 32+ hours a week.
