Need to have solid communication skills"ABOUT THE ROLEThe Manufacturing Automation Engineer will work directly with a team of experienced engineers toassist on manufacturing equipment projects, supporting production objectives. We are seekingmotivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in machinery and automatedequipment. Typical responsibilities revolve feasibility studies, calibrating equipment, designingelectro-mechanical-pneumatic fixtures, and designing process for manufacturing.OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES• Write and execute equipment & process validation protocols and reports.• Design & develop equipment, fixtures for manufacturing use. Perform equipment calibrationper set schedule.• Upgrade, modify OEM equipment for production.• Sustaining of existing equipment. Identifying, developing, and implementing the supportingcomplementary program for production equipment.• Preparing detailed technical specification for equipment in used and new build.• Evaluate equipment performance and reliability and make recommendations to increaseequipment reliability and throughput.• Transfer equipment and process to CM and support outsource manufacturing.PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES• Kindness and humility.• Great work ethic, ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and shifting workloads, andan eye for making decisions that ensure the success of key internal andexternal stakeholders.• Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and eagerness to learn and teach.• Ability to effectively juggle many priorities while remaining flexible to changing deadlines.• Comfortable navigating ambiguity.• Self-starter mentality and an understanding of when to elevate key details for approval.• Poise, resourcefulness, aptitude for problem solving, and the willingness to suggestalternative approaches based on experience and research.• Ability to communicate efficiently with multiple people both internally and externally.• Confidence to accept feedback.• Interest in Hound Labs’ mission and desire to affect change.QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.• Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical-pneumatic automated equipment is a must.• Experience working in a regulated industry (Medical Device, Biotech, or Pharmaceuticals) isa plus.• Proficient in SolidWorks and MS Office Applications creating electromechanical fixtureassemblies, detailed drawings, and simple machine control schematic.• Familiarity with DOE and Minitab• Experience in a moderate to high volume production environment and complex processesis an advantage.• Experience with basic hand tools and machine shop practice.Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication. Self-starter with aability to engage in proactive learning and remain productive with minimal supervision.POSITION | EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK• Full-time, on-site position.• Occasional evening work may be required as job responsibilities demand.• Some travel to CM may be required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS• Indoor position that requires sitting at computer for an extended period.• May be asked to lift approximately 25-50 pounds.• Exposure to moderate noise and light as typical in a manufacturing environment.
