Atieva, the technology arm of Lucid, developed the Battery System used by all teams in the Formula E Championship since Season 5. As Atieva continues its involvement in Motorsport and other special applications, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team. The candidate must be an experienced engineering professional with a strong understanding of electric powertrains, including high voltage battery packs, electric motors, inverters, and the integration of these components into motorsport, aerospace, or equivalent applications. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams at Lucid to conceptualize, design, develop, build, validate & integrate powertrain technology for new applications. The Role
  • Work within a small, focused group of engineers to design the next generation electric battery and powertrain systems for motorsport and special applications
  • Understand and develop application specific requirements and apply to the development of mechanical systems
  • Apply product development & design engineering best practices are used to ensure successful execution or program
  • Work with suppliers & partners to ensure rigorous standards and requirements are satisfied

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with proven success in the development of a high-performance mechanical system
  • Design release engineering experience - including engineering change and project management
  • Knowledge of both low and medium volume manufacturing methods
  • Expert 3D Design and GD&T skills using CATIA or equivalent
  • Hands-on, practical experience with shop tools for prototyping and building systems
  • A flair for creative design engineering and problem-solving
Preferred
  • 2+ years experience in the development of high-voltage electric systems
  • 2+ years experience in the Motorsport industry
Education
  • BS degree in EE, ME, CS, Math, Physics (MS preferred)
