Our client in the Insurance industry is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer.
The DevOps Engineer will Define, design, and implement DevOps technical solutions and processes. Develop processes to automate application integrations, cloud resource deployments and maintenance of a complex, distributed cloud infrastructure.Duration: 1 - 2 Year ContractHourly Rate: $70 - 75/hr. - W2 Only (Not open to C2C)Location: RemoteResponsibilities:- Develop code and scripts to automate and streamline CloudOps workflows in AWS and Azure
- Build and maintain library of secure and compliant Infrastructure as Code in Terraform and golden machine images for consumption by application developers
- Support stakeholder community and users of cloud platforms, perform incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Develop automated remediation capabilities to detect and resolve incidents proactively
- Adhere to proper change control processes, and leverage GitOps workflows to manage changes
- Develop and monitor operational, health status, and compliance dashboards; proactively resolve concerns before they become incidents
- Implement event-driven automations on cloud-native tooling (e.g. Lambda, Step, etc.) to respond to incidents
- Collaborate with teams reviewing design and test plans to ensure operational readiness and alignment to standards, determine potential gaps, and alternative solutions.
- Fulfill incoming requests and resolve incidents for cloud services
- Look for and recommend cost optimization opportunities
- Build and maintain tracking dashboards for various metrics (e.g. compliance scores, cost optimizations, invoicing, etc.)
- Provide Cloud Leadership with monthly reports on activities, trends, and concerns
- Develop documentation and keep wiki updated; attend and lead periodic training sessions to help teach others on cloud platform usage
- Good knowledge of internet networking, firewalls.
- DMZ network domains, VPC segmentation, load balancers. Passionate about troubleshooting, debugging, and automation.
- Good understanding of change management, release management processes, system administration.
- Experience in DevOps processes, tools, strategy, and best practices.
- Minimum of 3 years of strong hands-on experience using different tools for build automation, continuous integration/continuous delivery, release management, configuration management, application deployment and server provisioning.
- 2 to 5 years of experience with installation and configuration of Continuous Integration/Continuous delivery tools such as Microsoft TFS/Release manager, Azure DevOps, Jenkins.
- 2 -5 years of experience in scripting e.g. python, PowerShell, bash and similar technologies.
- 2 to 5 years of hand on experience in configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or similar in a cloud environment.
- Experience setting up build systems using Jenkins, GIT etc. Experience writing Terraform modules.
- Mentor team members and operations teams on the new tools / processes.
- Experience with cloud resource configuration, build, deployment. Self-driven mentality with the ability to deliver on time and stick to commitments.
