The Senior Network Engineer will be part of a team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs. Excellent communication, interpersonal and project management skills with consistently proven follow through are essential to success in this position.
Job description:• Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).• Utilizing industry best practices for security, disaster recovery, business continuity, change control, the engineer will design, configure, manage and troubleshoot a variety of networking technologies.• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.• Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure• Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.• Mentor and direct other IT personal in network methodology as needed.• Collaborate closely with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.Required experience:• Minimum of 10 years’ of proven hands on networking experience in a formal business setting.• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or closely related discipline or equivalent work experience.• Expert knowledge of network equipment.• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Routers and Cisco Nexus switch infrastructure (e.g. CCNA, CCNP Security, CCIE) required.• Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).• Solid understanding or experience with the OSI or TCP/IP model.• Experience with SDWAN and WAN acceleration appliances.• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and complete assignments in a timely manner.• Ability to work individually as well as in teams and be flexible in a dynamic environment.• Experience in network security including: Device Hardening and patching, IDS/IPS, SIEM, Firewalls, and IPsec, vulnerability assessment and intrusion detection.• Expert Knowledge of Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls or similar modern Security appliances• Understanding of controls (e.g. access control, auditing, authentication, encryption, integrity, physical security, and application security).• Experience implementing 802.1X security authentication a plus.Vacancy expired!
