VSolvit has an opening for a Project Manager to support our Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) operations in Norco, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of our NSWC Corona based project in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures, and guidelines. The Project Manager will be the primary face to the customer and take ownership of the business entailed in strong overall project support. This role will initially be remote due to the current health pandemic however based on future changes we see this role being primarily based on one of our Norco offices with some remote work flexibility.

Responsibilities also include:
  • Manage teams of personnel in support of technical and/or non-technical requirements.
  • Manage operational and contract aspects of projects.
  • Customer and employee interaction to ensure technical and contractual performance.
  • Execute to program level financial requirements and goals.
  • Responsible for the employment, training, coaching, mentoring, motivation, discipline, and performance evaluation of assigned employees.
  • Communicates job expectations and monitors, appraises, and reviews job contributions.
  • Manage and monitor subcontractor performance.
  • Defines, launches, and drives mission-critical strategic and operational initiatives in core technical and non-technical programs.
  • Resolves problems, identifies trends, determines improvements, and implements change.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, sharing professional publications, maintaining professional networks and professional organizations.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores opportunities to add value to company and customers.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years Project Management experience with groups of 15+ staff
  • 2+ years managing DoD or other government related projects and interacting with government organizations and staff
  • Experience managing, developing, evaluating, and supporting teams of 15+ technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Must be a
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance OR ability to reactive one held within the past 24 months OR interim clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or a business degree with a concentration in Technology Management, and / or Management and leadership
  • Master’s Degree in a technical discipline
  • PMP certification
  • Possess strong analytical skills, including an understanding of business economics and financial resources
  • Qualified Navy Engineering Duty Officer (designator 144X), Aerospace Engineering Duty Officer (designator 150X), or has been a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps
  • 3+ years’ experience managing US Navy programs or projects
  • 3+ years’ experience working as an ERP Financial Systems Administrator or or other ERP System
  • 2+ years’ experience supporting the NAVAIR or NAVFAC organizations
  • 1+ years’ business development experience to include opportunity identification, capture, teaming, proposal development, and proposal review
  • 5+ years of technical and supervisory experience in the management projects within the Department of Defense or Federal contracting environment
  • Experience in preparing reports and briefings
  • Demonstrated analytical and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an active member of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect, and interact with all levels of an organization and/or potential customers
  • Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with executives, customer, partner and company staff
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
