Visit dignityhealth.org/northridgehospital for more information.ResponsibilitiesNorthridge Hospital Medical CenterUNIT SECRETARY – Emergency RoomResponsibilities:Adheres to established Hospital/departmental policies and procedures, objectives, Quality Assessment and Improvement Program, legal, safety, environmental, infection control standards and Patient's Bill of Rights. Receives and routes physicians' orders to appropriate areas under the direction of the Registered Nurse per policies and procedures. Confers with licensed personnel, assigned to the patient, to schedule the patient's activities and tests. Performs clerical duties required to maintain the medical record. Documents and communicates all appropriate data/information to both intra/interdepartmental personnel, requisitions supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services and prepares related forms. Keeps stock and equipment inventories. Establishes and maintains effective interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and Hospital personnel, while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.QualificationsRequired:Minimum one (1) year of medical clerical duties in an acute careenvironment required. High School Graduate or equivalent required.

Current AHA BLS card required.

Workplace Violence training within 90-days of hire required.

LA City Fire Card required within 90 days of hire

Preferred: Proficient with AS400/Cerner preferred.Completion of an accredited/approved medical terminology course preferred.
