Major Duties Under the general supervision of the Senior Director, Infrastructure Services, the Data Center and Telecommunications Lead manages all day-to-day activities of Telecommunications and Data Center Operations staff. The incumbent provides technical and managerial oversight in planning, design, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting to Telecommunications and cloud/on-premises hybrid Data Center operations; coordinates 24x7x365 support for all Telecommunications and Data Center related activities; advises Sr. Director on policies, standards and procedures as it relates to data center and telecommunications infrastructure; adheres to and implements industry best practices for data center and telecommunications infrastructure and operations; coordinates and consults with internal IT teams; partners with Facilities Planning and Physical Plant Management (PPM) to coordinate and advice on development projects on campus; and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field. Specifically applicable technical training and/or experience may be substituted for the entirety of the degree. Five years of full-time, in-depth experience in telecommunication and datacenter infrastructure and the management of information technology teams.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Extensive knowledge of: Windows Directory Services (AD); internal desktop operating system technology, computer operations and hardware, and personal, hand-held devices. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available services. Working knowledge of Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux) and Windows operating systems. Experience working with application monitoring and performance tools preferred. Knowledge of the applications, requirements, standards, functionality, and capacity of copper and fiber optic cabling in regard to supporting voice, data, wireless and video technologies. Knowledge of the construction, installation and maintenance issues relating to copper and fiber optic cabling in both outside plant and intra building cabling environments. Proficiency in creating and editing telecommunications drawings. Familiar with TIA/EIA (Telecommunications Industry Association/Electronic Industries Alliance) standards. Ability and specialized skills to: deliver high-quality customer support to both technical and non-technical customers; perform advanced desktop systems administration and integration in a distributed, networked, multi-vendor computing environment. Ability to react positively under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Occasional light lifting (moving computer equipment).

Classification: 0410 / Operating Systems Analyst

The salary range for this classification is: $6249 - $12,100 per month.

The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $6249 - $9200, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

HOURS: Full-Time; 40 hours per week; 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. May include some evenings and weekends.

REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
