This individual will be a senior member of the Enterprise Architecture organization responsible for developing enterprise architecture strategy across the company. This individual will be responsible for delivering the corporate EA strategy and creating architectural standards that drive technology decisions and practices across the enterprise. In this role, the individual will help the business and the rest of IT to better understand, plan, align, enable, and mature the capabilities needed for Blue Shield to accomplish our mission of offering high quality, affordable healthcare to all Californians.- This architect will focus on applying architecture principles, policies, and standards to define technology solutions to meet business needs
- Members of our team have a consistent track record of solving some of the organizations most difficult problems in a scalable, resilient, and secure manner. We are passionate about solving difficult problems through technology and are focused on utilizing the cloud to solve large scale challenges
- The team will also be responsible for finding opportunities to improve our architecture using modern application technologies. A candidate will have deep experience in application architecture and integration architecture, as well as an understanding of other architecture disciplines: business, data, infrastructure, and security
- Document and publish enterprise architecture standards and roadmaps, technology simplification strategy and planning, technology lifecycle management
- Define and rationalize the technology and security operations that supports the application solutions/tools
- Have the ability to hands-on build MVP solutions and/or reference implementation
- Develop Technology Reference Architecture, decision criteria and patterns including guidelines for designing and developing target state technology capabilities
- Maintain a broad knowledge of new industry standard technology tools and trends and apply that knowledge to architecture designs
- Provide assessment of current state technology architecture and recommendation of future state technology architecture
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers, designers, and developers. Develop Architecture documents / artifacts from templates working with extended IT and Business teams
- Identify architectural risks and plans to mitigations risks, adherence to standards and best practices
- Influencs and communicate effectively with non-technical audiences including senior product and business management
- Work collaboratively across the company to drive adoption of technical standards, design principles and architecture patterns.
- Develop technology blueprints and reference achitectures
- Identify, evaluate and recommend solutions that meet business requirements
- Provide architecture consultations and technology decisions aligned with future state strategic architecture
- Collaborate with other architects to create and document standards and patterns that can be leveraged for future re-use, and actively seek opportunities to leverage industry solutions for new business offerings and services
- Monitor and analyze industry technology trends to determine their potential impact or application for the organization
- Provide thought leadership to various stakeholders by analyzing technology, business and operational implications of technology investment decisions
- Create contextual and conceptual models that help document and simplify potentially complex topics
- Provide comprehensive analytical thinking to ensure transformation costs, impact and value are properly understood estimated and controlled across people, process and technology
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, industry consultants and senior company leadership to continuously learn and identify opportunities to advance on our business strategy
- Requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant business and IT experience
- 3+ years of experience of working in the healthcare industry preferred
- 2+ years of architecture practice experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in understanding enterprise architecture life cycle methodologies
- Ability to tailor communications to the C-suite level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong relationship building skills
- Persuasive in influencing strategic architecture direction, framing reference architectures, specifying policies and standards, drive consensus on target state architectures, and influence roadmaps
- Skilled in applying strategic architecture direction to project delivery using standard engagement method
