Your Role

The Enterprise Architecture team translates business strategic goals into future-state capability reference architectures and execution roadmaps . The Principal Enterprise Architect will report to the Director of Enterprise Architecture . In this role you will drive the creation efficient ways for BSC to stay competitive and grow. Ability to complete an impact analysis with growth strategy across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, technology services, security and change management .

Your Work

In this role, you will:
  • Be responsible for the development and maintenance of enterprise architecture blueprints that articulate our business strategy, future state business and technology architecture, and multiyear execution roadmap
  • Collaborate with other architects to create and document standards and patterns that can be leveraged for future re-use, and actively seek opportunities to leverage industry solutions for new business offerings and services
  • Develop and maintain reference architecture which includes the reference model, guiding principles, standards, patterns and usage guidelines
  • Create contextual and conceptual models that help document and simplify potentially complex topics
  • Manages the creation and maintenance of models that identify interdependencies between business units, roles, associated capabilities, and technologies
  • Align with BSC operating model, strategy, and IT objectives in guiding IT transformations
  • Provide a business-centric view of the enterprise from a functional perspective
  • Ensure Data and Application Integration and Interoperability by addressing overall data processing needs
  • Continuously evaluate platform simplification and multi-tenancy opportunities ensuring - minimal amount of overlap among information systems, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive set of applications that work well together, are easily integrated, and don't duplicate efforts
  • Driven by core guiding principles, establish flexibility and consistency to synthesize information systems in an efficient and economical way

Your Knowledge and Experience
  • Requires at least 10 years relevant business and IT experience
  • Requires at least 3 years of experience in an architecture role
  • Requires both industry expertise and influence to articulate the technical requirements, negotiate roadmap priorities and align with business opportunities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in understanding enterprise architecture life cycle methodologies
  • Required interpersonal and technical leadership skills that demonstrate collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, conflict management and influence
  • Required strong proficiency in Data, Integration and Technology Architecture. Desired multi-tenancy architecture and M&A expertise
  • Examining key value streams delivering crucial business capabilities that are missing, low performing, and of critical, a very high, or high priority
