IT Support Engineer - Oakland, CA Client is an agile team of science, technology, and logistics experts, mobilizing in the public interest to make fast, safe, regular coronavirus testing accessible to all. Our internal COVID-19 testing methodology gives organizations responsible for public health the ability to rapidly scale up capacity for widespread ongoing testing. In collaboration with other CLIA-certified labs, researchers, and organizations across the ecosystem of public health, we are working day and night with a singular goal: to make COVID-19 testing accessible to every person on the planet, regardless of income. Our company is seeking to hire a skilled IT Support Engineer to provide stellar onsite support to our clinical laboratory staff and customers.
Principle Responsibilities ? Provide front line support for both internal staff and external customers ? Provide clear and concise instructions for documented common issues ? Collaborate with tier 2 and tier 3 support personnel to solve complex issues ? Maintain documentation of interactions and solutions in order to share with other personnel ? Participate in 24/7 on-call support schedule rotation ? Excellent written and verbal communication of complex multistep procedures ? Exceptional interpersonal skills in order to sooth customers experiencing high stress situations ? Experience with remote desktop support software such as Google Remote Desktop, TeamViewer, Any desk, etc. ? Experience with support request ticketing software and the general workflow of support ticketing ? General knowledge of both Mac and Windows desktop operating systems Education and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree.
- Excellent written and verbal communication of complex multistep procedures
- Exceptional interpersonal skills in order to sooth customers experiencing high stress situations
- Experience with support request ticketing software and the general workflow of support ticketing
- General knowledge of both Mac and Windows desktop operating systems
- Experience debugging both WiFi and wired networking issues
- Experience with common laptop and desktop hardware hands on support
- General scripting experience on multiple operating systems
- Experience within a laboratory or healthcare setting including equipment sterilization procedures
- Familiarity with HIPAA/HITECH or similar data privacy regulations
- Basic knowledge of system administration skills such as user and customer provisioning
- Familiarity with ChromeOS and Chromebooks
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree.
