Your Role

The Advanced Analytics team partner with a wide array of stakeholders to build impactful solutions for our members and providers. We are awed by the complex problems before us, and undaunted by the challenge. If there is data and a problem statement, we are building a solution. The Analytic Data Engineer will report to the Senior Manager in Analytic Engineering. In this role, you will design and develop production data pipelines and report to support key data and analytics initiatives. You will be the cornerstone of a robust data stack, integrating diverse sources and serving up data to power machine learning solutions and self-service analytics.

Your Work

In this role, you will:
  • Use a deep understanding of underlying business requirements to conceptualize and develop analytical systems that meet important business needs
  • Design and develop these systems so that they can be used by lower-level analysts thereby promoting company-wide efficiencies
  • Coordinate activities with other internal departments to maximize the overall efficiency and resolve conflicts
  • Communicate project status, progress, and outcomes to executive management
  • Fulfill a leadership role in the critical review and ongoing development of data management and analytical systems for strategically important enterprise-wide analysis and reporting
  • Design, develop, maintain, enhance end to end analytic products/reports for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Research and prepare evaluations on a variety of projects (financial, operational, data, and cost/benefit analyses)
  • Responsible for comprehensive and accurate peer review of other analyst work product

Your Knowledge and Experience
  • Requires an MPH, MBA, MS, MA, RN, or RHIA in health science, quantitative social science, public health, health services research or business, or BA/BS with demonstrated equivalent work experience
  • Requires SAS Certified Base Programmer Credential or equivalent and SAS Certified Advanced Programmer Credential or equivalent
  • Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires at least 5 years of experience in Health Care (managed care, academic, or gov't payer)
  • Experience with Claim and provider data
  • Ability to partner, collaborate with and influence relevant stakeholders across diverse functions and experience levels
  • A minimum of 5 years of Programming experience in SQL
  • Strong independent judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills required to anticipate and respond to emerging challenges
