Your Role

The Infrastructure & Cloud Services team provides the IT foundation for Blue Shield of California's mission. As a Product Manager, Consultant within this organization, you will be a pivotal member of the team - driving towards outcome-focused roadmaps and delivery. Your influential leadership will shine as the organization pivots to deliver with agility, transparency, and urgency. Your focus on holistic value and relationships will inform the prioritized work and lead to business outcomes that bring value to the BSC ecosystem. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Strategic Planning & Performance for the Infrastructure & Cloud Services Organization.

Your Work

In this role, you will:
  • Develop new product concepts, designs, and/or enhancements to existing product design that reflect business and user needs
  • Conduct research and develop strong understanding of the business needs, new technologies, technology trends and competitors
  • Work on advanced, complex technical products and business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge
  • Be invested in product process improvements, utilizing data and organizational strategies to foster and influence change
  • Develop business plan for products and participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including analysis, design, testing, and integration of products as well as the introduction of products to the organization
  • Build business relationships and provide a leadership role on cross-functional team to translate business needs and technology directions into product definitions
  • Serve as an advocate of product team to Senior Leadership
  • Conduct strategic planning and create IT Product/ Services roadmap
  • Develop product documents and mockups to clearly illustrate product ideas and concepts
  • Represent IT Product and provide a leadership role during integrated planning / Program Increments (PIs) and sign up for release dates
  • Manage product lifecycle and backlogs, as well as coordinate to plan product release schedule ensuring successful delivery by IT product team
  • Drive collaboration with other IT Product teams to aid dependency management
  • Work to influence parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures and practices
  • Demonstrate high-level understanding of technical concepts and architectural impact
  • Have proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and minimum 7 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Requires excellent business relationship skills
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Experience in IT Infrastructure, automation, and cloud strongly preferred
  • May have broad knowledge of product management
