Your Role

The Application Services Development Manager manages the delivery of high-quality, highly available, highly scalable digital solutions to meet enterprise needs. The IT Application Manager will report to the Sr Director, IT Applications. In this role, you will be accountable for defining and implementing a good foundation on the BSC Digital Platform, managing and mentoring a technical development team, and partnering with the product owners and managers to ensure the team has the capabilities and capacity to meet business needs. Your Work

In this role, you will:
  • Manage staffing, including recruiting and hiring new team members as needed, based on assessments of the talent of the existing team's talent and the labor needs
  • Be responsible for the overall implementation of departmental goals and objectives
  • Be responsible for building and growing talent; support your team through encouragement and by example
  • Collaborate with Digital Product owners and IT Product managers to plan for capability and capacity to meet current and future business needs
  • Resolve issues and remediates risks to delivery, including working with peers who are accountable for the components the web platforms depend on (infrastructure, data sources, web services) to execute successful delivery
  • Manage the engagement and oversight of vendor contractors
  • Partners across IT Portfolio teams to deliver strategic and operational projects aligned with the highest business priorities

Your Knowledge and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 7 years prior relevant experience, including 3 years of management experience gained as a team leader, supervisor, or project/program manager
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally and at all levels
  • Possess a wide range of technical leadership skills necessary for leading and working side by side with tech leads, developers, system analysts, and architects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audience
