Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as a Senior Payroll Specialist in Oakland, California. This role is a crucial part of our team, focused on managing customer applications, maintaining accurate records, and resolving customer inquiries. Responsibilities: Accurately and efficiently handle customer credit applications Maintain precise records related to customer credit Act upon customer accounts when necessary Calculate and record payroll deductions and overtime payments Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and company procedures in payroll administration Answer complex payroll procedural questions, assisting department managers and staff Conduct research and resolve payroll discrepancies Train staff on general payroll processes and procedure Handle standard and complex payroll transactions, including calculation of regular and supplement cycles Manage bank processes such as reversals, returns, stop payments, and reconciliation Handle payroll escalations for missing pay Oversee over-payment calculations and collections Supervise Leave of Absence process and calculations.Requirements Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint Strong customer service skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with various teams Knowledge of standard operations and procedures in accounts payable and receivable Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and understanding of compliance regulations Ability to handle payroll functions, including payment processing and terminations Familiarity with software 'About Time' for efficient management of tasks Competency in performing reconciliations and dealing with discrepancy issues Understanding of collection processes and ability to perform ad hoc financial tasks Knowledge of relevant regulation and principles related to the role Ability to conduct research and analysis as per company policy Experience in handling tax-related tasks and resolving issues related to missing invoices Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
