Here at Blue Shield of California, we are striving to make a positive change across our industry and the communities we live in - join us!Your RoleThe UX Strategist - Visual Design, Principal reports to the Sr. Manager of Visual Design.In this role you will design high fidelity wireframes, collaborate with the evolution of our design system and digital deliverables for all of Blue Shield Digital Products.Your WorkIn this role, you will:- Strategy: The go-to specialist/expert in seeing the bigger picture and vision for end-to-end solutions across Prospect, Member, Provider and Employer/Broker digital experiences.
- Cross functional solutions: Deep knowledge in understanding how functional user experiences areas - user research, interaction design, visual design and content strategy/design - combine for optimal solutions. Presents cohesive plan for UX participation with working teams and digital products. Help direct UX working team in active projects to ensure delivery.
- Coaching: As the go-to expert, actively coaches other UX team members in their discipline on best practices regarding approach to solution design and implementation.
- Future State: Expert in enterprise collaboration to evaluate new solutions and key digital products that will help our users. Works on future state user experience exercises.
- Tools: Has deep expertise in the best practices and toolset for design teams and directs recommendations for improving tools.
- Agile Best Practices: As an Agile expert, makes recommendations to user experience team, product and development to improve process.
- Partnership: Establish strong relationships across enterprise with partners in IT, Brand, Marketing, Product, Innovation, etc.
- Innovation: Extremely strong track record of innovation in people, process and technology.
- Visual Design: Recognized expert in creating visually elegant user interfaces employing graphics, typography, photography, iconography, color, and brand elements. Expertise in responsive web and native mobile design. Consistently creates the most compelling digital designs.
- Visual Language: Uses visual elements to convey a message to the user and creates an intuitive visual language. Rapidly explores use of new elements to evolve designs and design patterns.
- Evaluations of Systems: Expertise in performing heuristic analysis of user interfaces to determine winning patterns to inform design directions. Deep understanding of market trends in user interface styles and patterns in responsive web and native mobile.
- Style Guide: Expertise in creating style guides with full range of user interface components. Thorough in creating and populating a style guide framework that is comprehensive and scalable.
- Design System: Expertise in translating style guides to working design systems. Partnering with IT, creates comprehensive framework for design patterns and front-end code components.
- Front-End Development: Strong knowledge of front-end development skillset including html, css, javascript and front-end development tools.
- Partnership: As a shared services, supports working digital teams and builds strong relationships across enterprise with partners in IT, Brand, Marketing, Product, Innovation, Creative Studio, etc.
- Innovation: Very strong track record of innovation in people, process and technology.
- Partnership: Drive and maintain thriving relationships with working teams - IT, Product, Development, Marketing and leadership.
- Education: Requires college degree or equivalent
- Years of Experience: Minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience
