- Using remote sensing, spatial analysis, and geographic information system (GIS), to conduct in-depth research and analysis and provide analysis and assessments on the relationships and trends, and descriptive and predictive behavior of all-hazards events.
- Conducting research to collect, analyze, and interpret critical infrastructure information and data in order to identify trends and risks, and to determine how dependencies and interdependencies might affect the Region during an incident.
- Providing critical infrastructure risk analysis and geospatial analysis support to the Regional Director, field personnel, and regional staff in support of special events and in response to a threat or incident.
- Creating geospatial products and datasets, in support of future assessments such as long-term Dependency Projects, special events, or for incident response activities and/or exercises.
- Assessing and informing regional infrastructure risk management strategies, to include assisting in the identification and prioritization of the Region's infrastructure, through the use of analytical tools and modeling/simulation capabilities.
