Your Role

The IT Contracting and Asset Management Team supports three major service areas at Blue Shield: 1) technology contracting and negotiation expertise, supporting best in class contract terms and market competitive pricing; 2) procurement of hardware and software on a competitive basis to obtain best pricing and manage the assets through their lifecycle to ensure contract compliance and proper disposal/decommissioning at the end of the term and 3) the management of strategic suppliers to ensure Blue Shield receives the benefits and expected outcomes of the services, with a focus on reducing and avoiding costs.

The IT Asset Analyst - Consultant will report to the Director of IT Contracting and Asset Management. In this role you will work within our Software Management System to record software purchases in accordance with software industry standards, use your expertise and knowledge in software licensing models to ensure the proper recording and reconciliation of software assets, work with internal stakeholders to confirm consumption calculations and ensure they meet expectations and remediate license positions with internal software owners/stakeholders

Your Work

In this role, you will:
  • Ensure that all assets are appropriately recorded, tracked and reconciled on a regular basis.
  • Submit quote requests to suppliers as requested. Analyze/compare quotes to ensure consistency.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports re vendor spend and performance dashboards.
  • Support audit activities by providing accurate information

  • Use your analytical skills, including the ability to run ad hoc reports and provide data to various stakeholders
  • Analyze and interpret data and make recommendations based on the information.
  • Communicate to stakeholders the Software Asset Management policies, procedures, processes and practices
  • Act within defined policies and guidelines, while working independently with minimal supervision

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • In-depth experience in software licensing
  • Experience with Software Asset Management tool utilized in large organizations
  • Conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Experience with managing and reconciling complex software publishers (e.g., IBM, Oracle)
