We’re working on smarter grids, cleaner energy and tools to help people manage energy more efficiently.About Transmission and DistributionSouthern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 15 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.Position OverviewSeeking a self-motivated innovator that will help re-shape the Distribution Operations Centers (DOCs) in an emerging environment. Reporting to the Manager in charge of the DOCs, the Senior System Supervisor is responsible for the operations of the distribution system, ensuring system reliability, trouble response, management notifications, and service guarantees; as well as emergency operations during storm events. The successful candidate will ensure that services to the customer are reliable and delivered in a manner that is timely and high quality. Additionally, the candidate will have heightened focus on public safety, customer interaction, and performance metrics.Typical Responsibilities:

Monitoring safety and ensuring appropriate training of all personnel.

Overseeing the hiring of personnel and managing performance of subordinate staff, including career development, reward/recognition, discipline, and labor relations practices.

Building and maintaining positive relationships with peers and other departments, and encouraging teamwork to accomplish daily activities and meet organizational goals.

Coaching, mentoring, and being the job knowledge expert in the operation of the distribution system resolving elevated issues, responding to calls from other departments for support or information, and troubleshooting process breakdowns.

Utilizing online systems, including the Outage Management System (OMS), to monitor performance and gather data.

May be called upon to serve on internal and/or external teams.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

4 or more years of leadership and/or supervisory experience.

4 years of experience in operations, electric systems engineering, or troubleshooting software applications.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Demonstrated experience of construction work practices, including outages and switching procedures.

Experience in the operation of the distribution system, including ensuring system reliability, trouble response, and service guarantees; and experience in emergency operations of the distribution system during storm events.

Experience with union agreement and handling of labor relations and diversity issues.

Demonstrated experience leading others in time of change.

Demonstrated experience managing the work performance of subordinate staff.

Ability to use interpersonal skills to handle customer and employee relations issues in an effective manner.

Ability to analyze problems, develop and implement strategies with limited information under tight time constraints.

Ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and technical data verbally and in writing with customers, subordinates, peers, and management.

Knowledge of the Outage Management System (OMS).

Knowledge of the Incident Command System.

Nightshift supervisor hours 10PM-7AM.
