Job Description
We are a small, independent, thriving pet sitting and dog walking business in the Irvine and surrounding area is searching for a fellow pet lover to help us continue to expand.
Position
We offer visits as short as 15 minutes to as long as 90 minutes during the day, as well as overnight stays for dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small household pets. Our clients dictate what they would like completed in that time span - some just want a walk, others have us include feedings, medications, litter box cleaning, and other services.
Availability
We are flexible with scheduling our sitters around their other commitments (school, jobs, etc.). The prime time for scheduling clients is between 10 AM and 2 PM, evenings, and early mornings, so we need candidates who are consistently available during these times.
Qualities
We are looking for an individual who:
Is honest and trustworthy
Is punctual and able to manage time effectively
Is physically able to handle all types of dog breeds, as well as multiple dogs, and is able to care for cats without severe allergic reactions
Can commit to specific visits, and can communicate any changes well in advance
Can pass a background check
Has a government issued driver's license
Has been pet CPR and first aid certified, or willing to be.
Experience
Previous professional pet handling experience is required. Applicants with previous employment or internships at veterinary hospitals, grooming facilities, pet care stores, and boarding facilities are greatly encouraged.
Commitment
We would like our new sitter to be with long term as regular sitter for our clients. We expect to provide 15-25 hours a week, with potential for more depending on scheduling needs.
Transportation
As there is driving between visits, a reliable vehicle with insurance is required.
Must be local to Irvine.
Communication
We use an app that uses GPS to track walk routes and visit check ins/check outs, communicates with clients, and displays daily schedules, so an Android or Apple phone is required.
Compensation & Benefits
$11.50/hour to start, with a potential raise to $12/hour after 3 months of satisfactory performance.
