Paralegal Positions Open

California, Orange county 00000 Orange county USA

Vacancy expired!

I have several positions open:

IMMIGRATION paralegal

Legal Secretary

Litigation Paralegal

Other Legal Assistant

Anyone interested in following up incoming leads and inquiries from advertising are encouraged to apply, as just this one activity alone is a full-time position.

Legal Secretary:

I need an assistant who does e-filing, tracks the progress of process servers getting defendants served, manages billing, and invoices clients.

Paralegal:

I am expanding my office. I can use help with legal writing, law and motion, all aspects of family law, completing bankruptcy initial filings, preparing complaints, all of which is the tip of the iceberg. I need someone who can do the legal research to prepare legal documents from scratch because no law office has a template for everything, and legal issues vary from case to case.

The litigation paralegal position requirements are as follows:

Advanced experience with MS Word and Excel are helpful. I dont care how fast someone types, as typing 80 wpm doesnt mean you can do finish word-processing work. I need someone who is skillful enough in word-processing that the document is file-ready without needing someone to clean up any formatting problems.

I use an assigned-case approach. So, once I delegate a task on a case, such as propound discovery, the paralegal is expected to continue monitoring the case and follow-up all future tasks on that matter. This includes updating calendar entries regarding the matter.

Obviously, all the skills and qualities that are prototype and a defining characteristic of a paralegal are necessary, such as being meticulous, detail-orientated, organized, and professional. Work shouldnt be turned in until it is actually finished, proofread, and free of spelling and grammar errors.

I could also use help from someone who can prepare a family law default judgment package to be approved and signed by the court the first time without the doc package being rejected and returned.

This office has a substantial caseload in many different types law, such as family, construction, employment, business and corporate litigation, real estate, workers comp, bankruptcy, immigration, personal injury, probate, and other areas. We also provide legal services to self-represented parties nationwide, so familiarity with out-of-state law practice is a plus.

The ideal litigation paralegal candidate will have experience drafting pleadings, motions to dismiss, propounding and responding to discovery, drafting motions or opposing them in general, prepare subpoenas, depo notices, e-filing, legal research, and trial preparation. Knowledge of state and federal court rules is helpful. A 2-year degree in paralegal studies from an ABA rated school, or equivalent certificate program, is expected.

JD's are welcome to apply, but the compensation is based upon hands-on production experience and quality of work, not education. Academic knowledge is of little value. You can have all the post-grad degrees in the world, but at the end of the day, either you can get the work done efficiently or you can't.

I am looking for office space at the moment, so right now this position is limited to telecommuting.

Please submit your résumé, at least two writing samples, and your SALARY REQUIREMENT.

Compensation: DOE

Full or Part-time; telecommuting okay.
