J&R Custom Woodworks designs and builds custom cabinetry, furniture, and planters, as well as other high-quality wood products such as privacy screens, benches, AC covers, and trellises. Every piece is handcrafted with precision and pride for our customers across Orange County and Los Angeles.
We’re looking for a part-time Custom Woodworker / Installer who takes pride in their craft and treats each project as a masterpiece. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, pays close attention to detail, and wants to grow with a company built on quality, reputation, and craftsmanship. The schedule is flexible — perfect as a second job or side trade.
Schedule & Hours:
Up to 20 hours per week
Flexible schedule, weekdays, evenings, or weekends based on project needs and your availability
Additional hours may be available during busy seasons
What You’ll Do:
Build, assemble, and finish custom cabinetry, furniture, and planters, along with outdoor wood projects (primarily cedar and pine)
Safely operate saws, drills, sanders, and woodworking tools
Perform onsite installations and deliveries as needed
Travel to customer homes and job sites for measurements, deliveries, and installations
Measure, cut, sand, and assemble pieces to precise specifications
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
Deliver professional, friendly, and reliable customer service
Requirements:
6+ years of woodworking or carpentry experience preferred
Experience with fine cabinetry work, custom furniture, or detailed joinery
Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality craftsmanship
Passion for creating pieces that look and feel like true works of art
Ambition to grow with a fast-expanding company
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical labor safely
Professional, dependable, and punctual
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Pay: $23–$30/hour (DOE)
Mileage reimbursement for travel to customer sites and installations
All employment is at-will
