Western Limited (CA PI lic. #25433) is looking for a Statement Specialist to conduct important field work for our investigations.
The Statement Specialist position consists of conducting thorough recorded interviews with relevant parties, making efforts to independently verify information obtained in these interviews, and writing in-depth investigative reports. Statement Specialists are expected to work independently and investigate multiple cases simultaneously.
Most work will be done throughout Southern California, but assignments can also come in other areas. Longer travel is occasionally required, as is travel on short notice. The Statement Specialist will work remotely from his/her home office. This is a contract position, with an hourly wage during training and per-assignment compensation thereafter. All travel expenses are paid. Candidates must possess all the tools needed to complete the job, including a laptop computer, smartphone, audio recorder, working vehicle, and valid California driver's license.
Our Statement Specialists come from a variety of professional backgrounds. Experience in the industry is helpful, but no prior experience is needed if a candidate has the right skills:
Investigative mindset - Statements Specialists need to have an innate curiosity, a keen eye for detail, the ability to spot holes and discrepancies in large volumes of information, and the perspective to think outside the box when it comes to problem solving.
Interpersonal savvy - Because interviewing subjects is such an important part of this position, Statement Specialists need to be able to communicate effectively with people from varying backgrounds while still being able to strategically direct interviews.
Excellent writing skills - Statement Specialists need to possess the capacity to efficiently summarize recorded interviews into comprehensive, well-written reports while maintaining factual accuracy.
Self-motivation - The ability to work independently to manage a caseload, complete all administrative work, and meet weekly and monthly deadlines is an important aspect of the position.
