Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal /Staff Project Manager to join our Strike team. The selected candidate will be part of the Program Integration Team supporting onsite in Palmdale, CA, with some travel between those Palmdale and Rancho Bernardo as required. The overall responsibilities include executable tasks that will enable IPT leadership to achieve operational excellence.This position oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.This role reports to the Lab Manager. Primary duties will include SW/HW License management, property management, managing staffing of the integration team, and facilitating cross-IPT and cross-Business Area integration, managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects, and serving as liaison between Sub-IPT managers, IPT employees, and other program Functions.Regular responsibilities may include the following:

Supervising and facilitating the Peer Review process and CPATS training compliance

Support of Staff meetings including meeting facilitation, chart compilation, and action item tracking

Data aggregation and reporting on charging metrics and financials from MPM data

Oversight of Change Request process and collection of impacts

Updates and improvements to team SharePoint site and knowledge base resources

Scheduling and promoting engagement activities including lunch and learns, team recognition, business area highlights, and composition of periodic highlights for newsletters

Tracking overall IPT staffing including organization structure and roles, open needs (requisitions), incoming employee onboarding, Heads on Board (HOB), and IPT departures

Maintaining organization charts

Submission and tracking of IPT Program Access Requests (PARs)

Support of new business proposal writing and team organization

Assessment of project issues and development of resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Development of mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Conduct business travel up to 10% of the time from assigned work location to Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Must be highly detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and a skilled communicator.

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and 10 years of experience in Project Management, Program Integration/Execution; 8 years with Master's degree for an A04, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and 15 years of experience in Project Management, Program Integration/Execution; 13 years with Master's degree for an A05

Current, active DoD Top Secret Clearance within 4 years of last investigation / adjudication

Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project)

Working knowledge of Project Management principles

Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access

Preferred Qualifications:

Current Special Program Access

Project integration experience

Global Supply Chain experience

Risk/issue/opportunities (RIO) experience

Experience in SCIF/SAPF environments

Control Account Manager (CAM) experience/certification

Scheduling experience

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Proposal writing experience

Experience and ability to autonomously assess complex problems and decompose them into a plan of action while coordinating across a large, diverse team of program, business, and technical SMEs.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
