Transportation Brokerage/Carrier that has been in business 15 years is in need of a full time dispatcher- customer service person. This position is available to work out of an office, and not a position from home. The primary function of the job is contacting transportation drivers to locate trucks for the transportation of general commodities. At the same time negotiating rates and establishing all requirements for the loads offered. One must have adequate computer skills and be able to enter data related to tasks at hand timely. Working with team members to ensure all pick-ups and deliveries are made on time is crucial. The position requires having a good understanding of the geographical areas of the United States. Candidate must possess excellent communication skills and retention abilities; bilingual is plus, on site training for all applicants. Dispatcher is a key player for driver leadership. The dispatcher will be responsible for scheduling trucks shipments to maximize their capacity for moving freight. The person hired for this position will be responsible for the execution of dispatch functionalities including dispatching drivers, scheduling deliveries, and updating customers on drivers location, eta and notifying freight brokers of any delays. Customer service is the #1 priority for our continued success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with trucking companies & freight brokers to schedule full truckload shipments based on costs and delivery schedules.
Effective planning for shipments with an emphasis on high volume & driver productivity.
Schedule/request delivery and pick up appointments.
Experience with QuickBooks & basic accounting a real plus.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills with ability to coach and assist team members, all while being part of a high-performance team.
Detail oriented with excellent organization skills.
Ability to make decisions and to prioritize and communicate effectively with the truck drivers.
High school or equivalent
Dispatching trucks for over-the-road deliveries a plus
Dispatching Shipments a plus
Need to have a Driver's License or equivalent form of identification.
