Lua Construction General Contractors Inc. is looking for an experienced Construction Supervisor with a strong background in safety procedures and general knowledge in all trades of construction.
As Supervisor, you will organize and oversee construction projects and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. In addition, you will plan, implement, and oversee the company’s employee safety at work to ensure that the company is in compliance and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries.
The ideal candidate must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different trades to achieve the best results. You must have an analytical mind, great organizational skills and the ability to train others.
Responsibilities:
Supervising and train field workers (unskilled and skilled) and subcontractors.
Assigning and explaining tasks to the team members and regularly inspecting work done by team members to ensure that it conforms to the specifications in the work order.
Maintaining accurate records of all work done by the project team.
Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
Performing any duties required (hands-on) to complete the job.
Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
Calculating the amount of labor, time, and materials needed for each project.
Creating and adjusting project schedules accordingly.
Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
Ordering all construction materials needed for projects.
Help the Superintendent solve project-related problems.
Provide regular progress updates to the Superintendent.
Report on progress to managers, engineers, etc.
Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
Must willing and able to attend various safety seminars and/or classes.
Requirements:
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Proven experience as a construction Supervisor.
In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
A team player with leadership abilities
Good knowledge of MS Office and QuickBooks (preferred)
Cal Osha Certification (If you don’t have it, you must be able to get certified within the first three months of employment).
Current CA Driver License.
This job requires traveling, sometimes weeks at a time.
