Full Time Maintenance Engineer for an 80-unit multi-family community

An 80-unit gated community in Palm Springs is seeking an individual to become our Maintenance Engineer. This position requires a minimum of 2 years experience in the maintenance field. The candidate must provide all aspects of maintenance and preventative maintenance for the community. If you are motivated to work, detail-oriented, enjoys multi-tasking, a self starter and takes pride in your workmanship and skills this is the job for you.

Skills, Duties and Responsibilities

Provide support to the Resident Manager and Assistant Maintenance Technician

Significant experience in general maintenance, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, painting, carpentry & knowledge of safety procedures.

Safety conscious, steady and dependable, ability to work with pressure of deadlines and ability to be flexible to accommodate after hour and weekend emergencies.

Perform HVAC repairs and replacements

Diagnose and perform major, minor and routine maintenance/repair in a timely and professional manner.

Assure all service requests are completed daily.

Accurately document all work performed, including parts to Resident Manager

Maintain the premises, including exterior property appearance, take pride in where you work.

Assist in keeping grounds neat and free of litter

Inspect vacated apartments and routinely perform duties to restore apartments to "make-ready" status. Ensure that the apartments are up to company standards. Coordinate status of make-readies with your supervisor

Complete special projects as may be assigned and prioritized by your supervisor

Clean apartments to "make-ready" status

Report to your supervisor of any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately.

Follow all company policies and procedures, ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.

Welcome and acknowledge all residents according to company standards and anticipate and address residents needs.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team.

Must be able to appear in court if necessary, for eviction or other purposes.

Requirements

Must have good verbal and writing skills of the English language

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office & Internet

Must have license from the EPA in Heating and Air Conditioning or willing to complete your education.

Required to be on call 24 hours

Perform effective emergency maintenance (after hours) as required

Must work as a team with other employees

Must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of all hand tools, power tools, moving aids, mechanical equipment and measuring devices

Must have dependable vehicle to transport tools and equipment to the job

Must provide their own tools

Must be able to lift heavy objects necessary for installation and removal of appliances

Must have the ability to kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, etc. to reach items in need of repairs

Tolerance to all extremes of hot and cold weather, as may be necessary
