Maxar is currently seeking a Jr. Reliability Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will work on all levels of and phases of spacecraft development and support assigned programs, perform research, design, and development when needed, identify and solve technical challenges, and support documentation needs. In order to succeed in this role, you will possess strong skills in both the theory and practical application of reliability engineering and have some experience working in space applications for part, unit and spacecraft applications. Responsibilities:- Determine the expected reliability of units, subsystems, and systems
- Preform failure modes and effects analysis at the board level
- Familiarity with electrical schematics
- Generate and evaluate compliance to reliability requirements
- Participate in research, design, development, analysis and evaluation of components, systems and packages for spacecraft flight operation and testing
- Determine most efficient, yet sufficiently thorough method of solving problems
- Work on Reliability and other related problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors such as cost, quality, reliability, manufacturability, impact to schedule, and process improvement
- Ensure all inputs are understood and clearly communicate requirements and analysis outputs
- Must = or permanent resident
- Bachelor's degree in Reliability Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience
- Experience with failure mode analysis
- Familiarity with industry best practices.
- Familiarity with spacecraft design.
- Effective verbal and written communication, organization, project/time management, and leadership skills as well as attention to detail
