At Maxar Space, our products are vast: from our WorldView Legion platform for earth observation, to the Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) supporting NASA's Artemis Program to return to the Moon, to our highly reliable 1300/Legion class platform for communications applications.

We are currently looking for a Manager of Avionics Engineering to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will report to the Avionics Subsystem Director and be responsible for leading an engineering team responsible for Avionics subsystem design, analysis, hardware procurement, and testing. You and your team will be working very closely alongside a highly cross-functional team and will have the ability to impact essentially all phases of spacecraft design and build: from working with Product Management and Mission Architecture teams to build out product roadmaps and develop new Avionics architectures for our various spacecraft platforms, to getting into the nitty gritty detailed designs alongside Systems and Subsystem Engineering and Manufacturing, to powering on the spacecraft and collecting data for the first time in AIT (and then the fun troubleshooting that comes thereafter), and to finally performing orbit raising activities as your fully built-up spacecraft is on it's way to performing it's mission.

We are highly collaborative and work better together - the work that we do is at the intersection of everything: Business Development, Product Management, other Subsystems, Systems Engineering, AIT, Supply Chain. We are all highly intertwined with one another and we only succeed if we move together as a whole. You thrive at these intersections and your success will be through these relationships. You're also a storyteller and multi-technical-lingual, meaning that you're able to distill the most important of information when speaking to others so they understand you. •
