Maxar is seeking a Project Manager for our Product Assurance, Quality Control team located in Palo Alto or San Jose, CA. As a company, Maxar is a global leader of geospatial and space-based technology solutions.

You will be responsible for ensuring comprehensive calibration methodology while maintaining solid laboratory practices at Maxar's primary vendor, creating procedures and test methods that comply with established standards, serving as technical liaison to customers, developing and training staff, ensuring and expanding the scope of the company's calibration program, as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible oversight and maintenance of Maxar's Calibration program for equipment that will be used in the manufacturing of Flight or Non Flight Hardware. This would include internal and external entities.
  • Provide leadership for the calibration and repair of all internal Maxar measurement and test equipment inducted into the calibration facility to include on-sight calibrations as needed.
  • Ensure the quality policies are strictly adhered to for the in-house calibrations and on-sight Maxar Calibrations.
  • Provide internal customer support for scheduling and expediting of calibration equipment.
  • Project management
  • Monitor and track the outsourcing activity through performance metrics.
  • Report to management the outsourcing activity performance utilizing metrics.
  • Assist Measuring &Test Equipment users in the resolution of issues pertaining to M&TE maintenance, calibration, or repair.
  • Actively participate in the corrective action for issues pertaining to measuring &test equipment maintenance, calibration, or repair.
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of test equipment custodians, supervisors and managers responsible for measuring & test equipment.
  • Define training requirements for custodians.
  • Maintain a database to capture recall and inventory status information from the primary vendor's recall database.
  • Participate as a point of contact and subject matter expert for issues pertaining to measuring &test equipment and during audit activity.
  • Monitor, track, and report measuring &test equipment significantly out of tolerance conditions.
  • Participate in contract reviews and periodic contractor performance reviews.
  • Maintain a resource web site for Maxar test equipment users.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or a related field. 4 additional years of experience can be substituted for a degree.
  • 5 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with metrology specifications ANSI Z540, ISO17025.
  • Willing to work within a dynamic work environment and be adaptable to performing multiple tasks
  • Aerospace or electronics experience
  • Strong communication skills
