Maxar is currently seeking a Propulsion Component Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. The ideal candidate will apply engineering know-how to complex systems and is familiar with propulsion systems, analytical methods and their practical application

Responsibilities:
  • Work within a propulsion team to complete customer-required analyses and documentation
  • Manage the technical details of vendor manufacturing, testing, and development efforts for subcontracted components
  • Drive qualification efforts for bipropellant, monopropellant, cold gas, and electric propulsion components
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external customers
  • Create 3D models and release drawings for new propulsion components
  • Perform thermal and structural analysis

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree in the fields listed above
  • Relevant experience with 3D modeling
  • Relevant experience with component engineering
