Maxar is currently seeking a highly-motivated Quality Engineer. The ideal candidate has experience with new supplier/product qualification and production implementation for aerospace products. We are looking for someone who can collaborate, innovate, who is not afraid of a challenge. Applicable quality-minded product engineers/system engineers are requested to apply. Responsibilities:- Develop, deliver and manage plans (quality plan, risk management plan) and requirements (safety, functionality, regulatory, usability) that ensure provisions for quality are addressed and resolved prior to and during the product development at the supplier.
- Support various engineering organizations and supply chain in the execution of the above plans.
- Contribute to supplier selection process, risk management, design verification, design validation, design reviews, and product qualification process.
- Influence and leverage improvement and corrective action governance boards (MRB, FRB, PRB) to recommend and implement prevention actions and/or corrective actions.
- Lead a variety of cost reduction, quality improvement, and schedule reduction improvement projects from ideation through closure, utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodology.
- Create and maintain supplier product assurance requirements for various classes of products and customer's requirements.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Statistics or other science/engineering-related discipline and experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering or a related technical field
- A healthy dose of Systems and Quality Engineering experience
- Technical product design and manufacturing process experience
- Experience with data analysis and tools
- Ability to employ process and system analysis to determine how to build safeguards and process changes to prevent nonconformities
- Experience with providing leadership consultations & leadership support
- Lean Six Sigma Certified Green Belt
- Experience with implementing AS9145 concepts (Advance Product Quality Planning, APQP)
- Advanced experience with MS Excel, Access, Visio, and any applicable business intelligence tools
- Proficient knowledge of system improvement implementation and development product life cycles (NPI)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and execute medium (6-8 month) to large (8-16 month) system projects in a dynamic environment, including robust business analysis for recommended attainable solutions.
