Maxar is currently seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. Our team works on all levels and phases of spacecraft development with a wide variety of disciplines, are responsible for assigned programs, perform research, design, and development when needed, identify and solve technical challenges, and support documentation needs. This role will also be responsible for mentoring Jr. Engineers in Reliability techniques and application. Responsibilities:- Determine the expected reliability of units, subsystems, and systems
- Preform failure modes and effects analysis at the board level
- Familiarity with electrical schematics
- Generate and evaluate compliance to reliability requirements
- Participate in research, design, development, analysis and evaluation of components, systems and packages for spacecraft flight operation and testing
- Determine most efficient, yet sufficiently thorough method of solving problems
- Work on Reliability and other related problems of advanced scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors such as cost, quality, reliability, manufacturability, impact to schedule, and process improvement
- Ensure all inputs are understood and clearly communicate requirements and analysis outputs
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Bachelor's degree in Reliability Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. A Master's degree may count as 2 years of relevant experience .
- Experience with failure mode analysis
- Familiarity with industry best practices. Familiarity with spacecraft design
- Must be able to mentor and train Jr. Engineering is the art of Reliability Engineering Analysis and application
- Strong skills in both the theory and practical application of reliability engineering.
- Experience working in space applications for part, unit and spacecraft applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication, organization, project/time management, and leadership skills are essential, as well as attention to detail
