Maxar is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. Resource Planning Management (RPM) is the primary function behind schedule and risk management of a satellite program from EDC to ship, and offers the unique opportunity of learning the entire spacecraft build from within one department. Collaborating with stakeholders from every area of the company and managing complex issues throughout the life of the program keeps this function fresh and exciting from inception through delivery. The work includes proposal efforts, front end planning coordination, schedule development, detailed project analyses, conflict resolution and management of critical paths and resources. Responsibilities:- Supports Production Control in the development and management of various program schedules (RPM360) and Program Master Schedules
- Supports the company in the development and documentation of program Risk Management plans.
- Analyzes and evaluates, in coordination with Functional Organization management and PMOs, the individual program schedule impacts due to Cross Program Issues. Makes recommendations to resolve cross program schedule conflicts.
- Monitors the progress of each functional element of the assigned program(s) in terms of work, schedule, issues and reports on their status to the Schedule Decision Board (SDB) and Program Manager.
- Resolves schedule and risk management interface conflicts related to assigned program responsibility.
- Assists in the preparation of technical correspondence, deliverable data, and reports.
- Expected to provide pro-active leadership in resolving scheduling and risk management issues.
- Expected to contribute to the overall Program Planning and Risk management group (RPM Dept.) in developing and supporting process improvements and metrics
- On a continuing basis, may issue assignments to personnel assigned to assist. Receives broad assignments with periodic supervision
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or a related field. 4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
- 8+ years of relevant experience required
- 4+ years of management experience required
- Aerospace or electronics experience required
- PMP Certificate required
- Familiarity with network scheduling programs such as MS Project Client and Project Server
- Master's degree.
- Willing to work within a dynamic work environment and be adaptable to performing multiple tasks
