Please review the job details below.SSL is seeking an Accounting Manager to manage our day to day accounting activities. Located in Palo Alto the position will manage the general accounting functions for our SSL operations. The position will report to SSL's Controller. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage multiple aspects of accounting - financial statements, general ledger, payroll, AP, AR and revenue recognition, some cash functions and various special analyses. Effectively manage a team of at approximately 7 people in Payroll, AP, AR and GL groups Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and reports, working closely with FP&A team Manage the day to day accounting interface with SSL's parent company, Maxar Responsible for SOX compliance, working with Maxar to update and execute on appropriate controls Maintain an organized filing system of all trial balances, financial statements, account reconciliations, transactions, payments, and debts Organize information and statements for audits and both internal and external auditors Define, benchmark and implement operational best practices across accounting Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting Ensuring company complies with all additional legal and regulatory requirementsRequirements:

Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field

Minimum of 3 years of experience in management level accounting role

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required

Strong understanding of, and prior experience with, percent complete revenue recognition required

Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Attention to detail

Able to work in a dynamic, complex environment as a self-starter who can quickly understand and develop processes

Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members
