Please review the job details below.MAXAR is seeking a Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineer for a full-time role as an External Products Engineer at our Palo Alto, CA office. As a company, MAXAR is a global leader of geospatial and space-based technology solutions.External Products Organization is responsible for the design, development and management of products manufactured by our subcontractors. (Products include ACS, Propulsion, Thermal, Battery, Camera Systems, Shock Isolation Systems and Solar Arrays.)Responsibilities:

Responsible Engineer for the design, development and subcontract management of hardware procured outside of MAXAR

Create product specifications, design details, interfaces, test plans/procedures, and processes based on program requirements

Manage contract commitments including technical requirements, cost and schedule

Assist in the integration of subcontracted hardware into spacecraft systems architecture

Generate engineering drawing and models with CREO and design tools

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering

3+ years’ experience in project/program management , engineering, or manufacturing for spacecraft, aircraft, or automotive

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Strong project management skills

Detailed understanding of top level spacecraft models, product structure and BOM definition

Power user for CREO, Solidworks and MATLAB/Simulink

Understanding of design practices for release, redline, and engineering change notice processes

Comfortable working on interdisciplinary teams internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge in skills such as manufacturing process, soldering, mechanical assembly, electromechanical integration, etc. of flight equipment.

Ability to assume role as sub-system owner and/or lead multidisciplinary team for fulfillment of programmatic requirements

Ability to evaluate processes for non-value added steps and continuous improvement opportunities
