Please review the job details below.Maxar is currently looking for a Senior Operational Excellence Engineer to join the Operational Excellence (OPEX) team. This team has the responsibility to continuously drive quantifiable improvement projects company-wide and to build a lasting platform for continuous improvement. Members of the OPEX team are experienced professionals who are adept at facilitating change through a balance of interpersonal and structured skills. We are a team of collaborators, mentors, leaders, consultants, drivers, and individual contributors.Responsibilities :

Collaborate with improvement programs across the company to grow a platform of continuous improvement

Mentor and coach employees on continuous improvement and project management techniques to accomplish short-term and long-term results

Lead a variety of cost reduction, quality improvement and schedule reduction improvement projects, from ideation through closure

Consult and provide support to managers and senior managers on strategic objectives, initiatives and corresponding KPI’s

Drive accountability and performance on various process improvement projects

Individually contribute and analyze process improvement projects as a Lean Six Sigma subject matter expert

Responsible for directorate level process improvements and potentially company level improvements

Develops baseline metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)

Works with management on performance targets and recommends action plans designed to improve quality, reduce cost and improve schedule performance

Uses Lean Six Sigma methodology to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control processes.

Understands, promotes, and teaches Lean Leadership

Facilitates change through Continuous Improvement

Works with management to identify and complete projects in line with company goals.

Initiates projects with little direction and completes all financial calculations to justify and validate improvement projects

Recommends improvement strategies to senior management and implements improvements that will have an effect on the company's balance sheet

Creates measurement tools to track performance and sustain improvements

Leads teams in the development of current and future state process baselines

Analyzes and validates data based on quantitative and statistical techniques

Works cross-functionally on solutions to improve quality, cost and schedule performance

Coaches Lean Six Sigma Green Belts, Black Belts and Quality Engineers through their improvement projects

May teach Lean Six Sigma courses up to Black Belt

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is required

3 years of continuous improvement or Lean Six Sigma implementation experience

Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree or MBA preferred
