This position will be responsible for reviewing all charges for services incurred on “flagged” Transplant accounts daily to ensure they meet organ account eligibility requirements. Upon review the Financial Assistant will release for billing and capture of charges for the MCR (Medicare Cost Report).Job SummaryThe Charge Coordinator supports core billing and revenue functions of the Solid Organ Transplant Destination Service Line. This position will be responsible for reviewing charges for accurate capture on the Medicare Cost Report, billing and follow up for living donor claims from external organizations, and auditing charges for accuracy and completeness.Essential FunctionsThe job duties listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification and are not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, tasks, and responsibilities. Reviews and submits transplant work queue charges for pre-transplants recipients for capture on the Medicare Cost Report.

Reviews and submits pre and post-transplant charges for living donors to ensure charges are billed properly.

Verifies and updates living donor recipient registration records.

Reviews for accuracy and processes external living donor claims for payment.

Follows up on living donor claims billed incorrectly by external organizations.

Audits transplant and VAD charges for accuracy and completeness.

Completes billing and charge lag audits.

Completes monthly transplant billing reports.
