Study Coordinator to support a notable non-profit Client in

Pasadena, CA. You will be responsible for managing one of their Study sites in accordance with the Study Master Operating Procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements. Title: Study Coordinator

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate

Location: Pasadena, CA

Type: Long term contract

Responsibilities:
  • Manages one of the ADVANCE Study sites, utilizing Medrio Software as the platform to capture all study information.
  • Manages the Calendar for the one of the ADVANCE Study sites, utilizing the Calendly software. Coordinates both initial and follow-up appointments.
  • Comply with all designated safety policies and procedures in the work area, including the use of applicable protective equipment when necessary to prevent exposure to potentially infectious agents.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and legible records. Identify discrepancies and verify documentation performed by other technicians. Review documentation for accuracy, validity, and completeness.
  • Review testing results of participants and creates notification letters for Follow-Up appointments. For HIV positive participant, notify Research Coordinator or Medical Director trained to perform HIV counseling. Complete state notification as required by state law. Utilization of personal computer may be necessary.
  • Recognize and identify testing irregularities, supply or computer problems, errors and other potential problems that may adversely affect the operational study performance or results. Report problems to the lead Coordinator or other appropriate supervisory staff. Trouble-shoot and implement corrective actions.
  • Notify appropriate management staff and Principle Investigator immediately of testing delays, problems, or discrepant results.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies necessary for the performance of ADVANCE Study. Understands supply storage and stability requirements and follows manufacturer recommended storage conditions.
  • Perform phlebotomy in lieu of ADVANCE Study phlebotomist as required.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of participant information and test results.
  • Understand and comply with applicable federal and state regulations and Standards pertaining to blood banking and safety.
  • Adheres to quality assurance procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • May be required to work overtime or provide on-call coverage as needed. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule for the duration of the study.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.
  • Provide supervision and leadership to ADVANCE Study staff on site.
  • Assist in the training of new ADVANCE Study Staff as required.
  • Travel to other ADVANCE Study sites may be required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with an accredited institution with a major in chemical, physical, or biological science, medical technology or the equivalent experience
  • Minimum of FIVE years laboratory experience required subsequent to qualifying. Will be required to meet specific state requirements. Prior research experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand and perform complex procedures and techniques.
  • Analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities necessary.
  • Proven skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making.
  • Ability to correctly interpret test results, to include identification and correction of discrepancies. Ability to convey and explain test results to the general public. Must be knowledgeable of required regulations and comply with them.
  • Possess superior written and verbal communication skills and basic leadership abilities.
  • Use of good sound judgment.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and handle a high-volume workload efficiently essential.
  • Must maintain high standard of performance during repetitious tasks.
  • Ability to promote cooperative work environment with ADVANCE Study staff.
