The incumbent serves as a General Manager of the Library and Morale, Well-Being and Recreation (MWR) Ticket/Customer Service Office, gymnasium, aquatic center and hands-on manager of the RV Campground and RV Storage lots with responsibility for overall management, direction, and control of all phases of the day-to-day operations. Collectively, these different program activities are located in an area referred to as the HUB. The MWR program provides a wide range of facilities and activities for use by active duty personnel and their dependents, military retirees, and other eligible patrons residing the community. The position reports to the MWR Director.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:Overseeing and managing the daily operation of the MWR ticket office operations to include, the book inventory program, Navy Military Ticket Program, sales, and fee collection for various programs.Serving as the liaison and primary communications for the Department of Defense (DoD) Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) Navy Military Ticket Program.Serving as Purchasing Agent for all centers of responsibility, responsible for the receipt, storage, and inventory of all books, tickets, products; ensuring all invoices, transfers, and inventories from all events are recorded properly and submitted to the MWR Administrative Office for billing.Evaluating overall management objectives for the Library and MWR Ticket/Customer Service Office, aquatic center, gymnasium, RV Campground and RV Storage Lot operation and identifies the most economical and effective management practices that will achieve desired results.Reviewing all contracts for each function held at the HUB to ensure proper pricing and general content accuracy.Planning the implementation of new or expanding programs within these operations when appropriate.Providing oversight of activities, in conjunction with facility managers, within several recreational facilities or manages one or more selected facilities, as appropriate.Directing swimming pool operations, including instructional programs and determines hours of availability for community use, assigning lifeguards, ensuring that pool is operated according to health and safety rules, testing and adding chemicals as appropriate.Coordinating schedules and events for the gymnasium.Managing tennis and racquetball courts.Scheduling use of athletic fields, including planning, promoting, and managing special events.Maintaining accurate attendance/usage records for all activities.Recommending major improvements and/or modifications to supervisor.Formulating operating policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) pertinent to the efficient operation and utilization of the facilities, procurement, storage, sanitation, and safety.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentU.S. Citizenship is required.This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
