Performs adult cardiac ultrasound including the use of color flow and
cardiac doppler. Performs all echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms,
transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE's) and Dobutamine echocardiograms
and submits examinations for Cardiologist interpretation. Submits
written interpretation of findings for the cardiologist's review and may
be required to help with stress EKG's and other cardiac procedures.
This position will be expected to float to other Cardiac Services
departments within the organization, as needed.Education/Licensure/Certification:? Sonographer 1 - Must be RDCS (Registered Diagnostic
Cardiac Sonographer) eligible and /or graduate of an ARDMS (American
Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) approved Ultrasound program.? Sonographer 2 - Must be a currently registered Diagnostic
Cardiac Sonographer; step placement based on relative years of
experience.? Sonographer 3 - Must be a currently registered Diagnostic
Cardiac Sonographer with at least 16 years of relative experience to be
considered a Sonographer 3.In addition to above:? Associate's degree preferred.? Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the Red
Cross or American Heart Association required.Knowledge:? Must have knowledge of 12 lead EKG.Skills:? Basic computer skills required.? Ability to physically transport echo machine throughout the
hospital.? Ability to prioritize work assignments.? Excellent communication and organizational skills.? Team oriented with the ability to assist in developing
